One challenge that many podcasters face when growing their email list is finding a good enough “hook” to entice people to subscribe. After all, you’ve got to give something to get something, and most of us get enough email as it is, right?
Fortunately, some podcasters have discovered a great way to take an episode and turn it into a tool to get people to opt-in to your email list. You can grow your mailing list by turning a great episode into its very own eBook! Here’s how:
First, choose a podcast episode that you think will appeal to your audience, and have it transcribed.
Next, head over to Fiverr and hire a freelancer to create a nice looking eBook cover. There are dozens of providers who can make a book cover in less than 48 hours, for as little as \$5. Be sure to check their reviews and their work to make sure you like their style, and that they are good at what they do.
After you receive your shiny new cover file, paste it into the front-page header of your transcription document. Write a brief introduction, and insert a call-to-action at the end to encourage the reader to subscribe to your podcast.
Finally, convert your document to a PDF and make it the opt-in “hook” for your email list. It really is that simple!
