Tape Transcription

Tape Transcription: $1.50 minute

  • Transcription from standard tapes. (NOT micro-cassettes.)
  • Transcription done in about 10 days from receipt of tapes.
  • You get a digital transcript AND an MP3 audiofile.
  • Transcription is done by highly rated transcribers.
  • Cost is $15 per tape + $1.50 per minute of audio.

A valid email address to which we can send your transcripts. Only used for contacting you about your order.  


The number of tapes you will be sending to us. 

The length of audio in minutes. Guess high rather than low as we will not charge you for excess minutes, but if you guess to low we will invoice you, which can add many days to the process.  Example: 98 (for 1:38)
Any pointers to pass onto the transcribers? You may want to include the title of your program, useful websites, unusual words, keywords and acronyms, and the names of the speakers.
Notes -- particularly speaker -- names greatly increase transcript accuracy. 


How does it work?

  1. Place an order by telling us how many tapes you have and authorizing payment via Google Checkout or PayPal.
  2. Then ship the tapes along with the packing slip that we will email you to our processing facility at:

  3. We get to work right away converting your audio to MP3s. After we are finished we'll mail the tapes, along with a CD or DVD of the MP3 files, to the address provided. At this point we will charge your credit card for the actual transcription of the audiofiles.
  4. Then we'll start transcribing. After we are done, we will send you electronic copies of your transcript. The whole process should take about 10 days from the time we receive the tapes.
